Kimi Work currently ships for Windows and macOS only. I’d like to request a native Linux desktop client.
My setup: Fedora Workstation. An AppImage, Flatpak, or .rpm package would work great for the Fedora/RHEL ecosystem — though any Linux build would be very welcome.
My use case: I manage projects where I need Kimi Work to read local files, create documents and spreadsheets, and keep project dashboards available. The web version covers chat, but the deeper desktop integration — access to local folders, file creation, persistent project workspaces — is exactly what makes Kimi Work valuable, and it’s what Linux users are missing today.
Linux has a large developer and power-user community that overlaps heavily with Kimi Code CLI users (which already supports Linux natively — thank you for that!). A Linux build of Kimi Work would complete the picture.
I’d be happy to beta test on Fedora if that helps.
i very much agree, i think kimi is one of the best if not the best ai currently and the only thing holding me back from paying for the subscription is the fact that linux isnt supported for the work feature(and the waitlist of course haha)
Hey Winsock ! I’m on Fedora Workstation, I use dnf / .rpm. An AppImage or Flatpak would also work great if that’s easier. Thanks for offering to help buddy!
Yes sir, I am most likely going to just release a full production line, but if you want I can shoot you a beta build. Make sure everything packages correctly.
i agree very much. I really like Kimi, but most of my work is on Linux. Although I’m subscribed to Kimi, I can only use the web version. I really hope Kimi releases a native Linux client for Kimi Work.
