Hi everyone,
I’m an Allegretto annual member, purchased recently) and I’ve been a happy Kimi Code user since the beta period. Since the beta ended, my experience has changed dramatically for the worse.
What changed:
-
During beta: token consumption was predictable and sustainable.
-
After beta: same usage patterns, but quota burns 3× faster.
-
The Kimi Code Console shows “Standard / HighSpeed (6× speed, 3× usage)” but there is no toggle to select Standard.
-
My API calls via
api.kimi.com/coding/v1appear to be forced into HighSpeed mode with no opt-out.
Impact: My weekly quota now lasts 2–3 days instead of a full week. This makes my annual membership effectively unusable for daily work. I did not sign up for forced HighSpeed — I signed up for the service that worked during the beta.
What I’ve tried:
-
Checked all settings in the Kimi Code Console — no Standard toggle exists.
-
Confirmed my Zed config uses
kimi-k2.7-code(not-highspeed), but the membership endpoint seems to force HighSpeed anyway.
Request to Moonshot: Please either:
-
Add a setting/API parameter to disable HighSpeed on the membership endpoint, OR
-
Offer a partial refund/pro-rata credit since the post-beta service no longer matches what I paid for.
I love the product and want to stay loyal, but this needs to be sustainable. Has anyone else hit this?
Thanks, Enrico Pitea [masked]
