Hi all,
I want to close the loop on my earlier thread and leave a final data point for anyone considering Allegro.
The numbers:
-
Plan start: July 22, 2026
-
Plan cancelled: July 31, 2026
-
Days of actual usable access: 9 days
-
Monthly quota consumed: 91.24% (see attached screenshot)
-
5-hour limit used: never hit, not even close
-
7-day limit used: never hit, not even close
-
Models used: Mixed K2.7 and K3 to conserve credits
-
Usage level: Part-time freelancing, actively rationing myself
What this screenshot proves:
The monthly pool is the bottleneck. I have 86% of my 5-hour capacity and 83% of my weekly capacity still available, yet I am 91% dead on the monthly cap at the beginning of week 2. The weekly and burst limits are decorative. The monthly quota is so small relative to the weekly allowance that it cannot mathematically survive a full month even if I never hit the other caps.
This is not a usage problem. This is a quota design problem.
The context:
I have been a Kimi user since K2.3 or K2.5. Moderto for four months, zero issues. Allegretto for two months, zero issues. I upgraded to Allegro specifically because K3 destroyed my Allegretto credits in days. I paid $100 believing the advertised 15× coding credits would finally be enough.
It wasn’t. Despite mixing in K2.7 and cutting my usage significantly, I burned through 91% of the plan in 9 days. That leaves 21 days of dead subscription. I am a student in Egypt, between jobs. I cannot afford extra usage fees. I cannot afford Vivace. I cannot afford to keep paying for weeks of lockout.
The support experience:
On July 25, I sent a detailed email to [email protected] documenting this exact timeline. It was ignored. I posted on this forum with my usage data. The response was “we’re working on it, please wait.” I waited. I rationed. I tried to make it work.
It didn’t work.
Why I am posting this:
Not to rant. Not to demand a refund. Simply to warn other users who are considering Allegro: as of July 2026, this plan does not function as a monthly subscription for sustained work. It functions as a very expensive weekly pass. If you are a freelancer, a student, or anyone who needs predictable access, please factor this into your decision.
I genuinely loved Kimi. The product is excellent. The metering is broken. I hope Moonshot fixes it. If they do, I will consider coming back. But I cannot keep paying to beta-test a billing system that punishes loyalty.
Good luck to everyone still here. I hope your experience is better than mine.
