I’m writing because I’m trying to figure out the math behind the available plan tiers. I have the $200 account for both OpenAI and Anthropic. The $100 a month account offers five times the monthly basic rate. And the $200 accounts offer 20x the monthly basic rate.
The Kimi plan states the 5x for the $100 value, but only 10x for the $200 value, which means there’s no financial incentive to purchase the more expensive account. It also means that the Kimi platform is not in line with the competitive landscape, which seems…unlikely?
But I question if this value is measured the same. I would like a way to be able to compare these objectively. Does anybody have any feedback? As far as I can tell, the math doesn’t add up for 10x either. It should be more like 12x if they’re comparing it against their basic rate. But either way, something feels off, so I thought I would ask before I upgrade.
I would think they would have to offer the $200 plan at the same 20x multiplier because although Kimi K3 charges less per token when using the API, I’ve also heard it can use twice as many tokens for the same task (not always, but not uncommon; I’ve not researched to confirm this). Regardless, this is totally fine, honestly.
But this further strengthens my thoughts that math would completely fall apart if the $200 per month tier is truly just a 10x multiplier.
Anyone have any concrete evidence on this?
Thank you very much!
